Banbury & District Canoe Club

Banbury & District Canoe Club was founded in 1977, and moved to its current location of Cropredy Wharf in 1988. The clubhouse is situated in pleasant surroundings alongside the Oxford Canal.

The club has been awarded the Sport England clubmark and the British Canoe Union’s Top Performance Club and Top Community Club awards for the quality of its coaching, and was named BCU Club of the Year 2006 and runner up in 2009.

The club is privately run and has a warm and friendly atmosphere, welcoming new and prospective members. As well as canoeing, members enjoy a range of social activities organised within the club.

All levels of paddler are catered for, from beginners up to international standard and the club welcomes families and youngsters, to introduce them to the activity.

Their coaches are qualified by the British Canoe Union, and they run regular courses for beginners, both adults and children.
